Team Belarus
Introduction
It will be the first in the history of the Republic of Belarus participation in the WSI championship. The national team of the Republic of Belarus will participate in the WorldSkills International Competition in Sao Paolo in 15 skills within such areas as “Transport and Logistics” (Automobile Technology), “Construction and Building Technology” (Joinery), “Manufacturing and Engineering Technology” (Mechatronics, Mobile Robotics, Electronics, CNC Milling, CNC Turning, Mechanical Engineering Design - CAD), “Information and Communication Technology” (IT Network Systems Administration, Information Network Cabling), “Creative Arts and Fashion” (Fashion Technology), “Social and Personal Services” (Cooking, Restaurant Service, Hairdressing, Pâtisserie and Confectionery).
The National team consists of the Competitors, Experts, Team Leaders, Official and Technical Delegates, Assistant of Technical Delegate and a group of Interpreters. Competitors are the young people at the age of 18 - 25 years who either study at VET schools/colleges and universities or already work at the leading enterprises of the Republic of Belarus.
The Experts of the Belarusian team are the representatives of the leading Belarusian enterprises, the system of VET and higher education, such as: Belarusian brunch of “Festo” company, Belarusian brunch of “Atlant-M” company, “Minsk Tractor Works”, JSC “Integral”, Brest State Technical University, Belarusian National Technical University, Professional Technical College under the RIPO, etc. All the Experts are very enthusiastic in getting acquainted with the WSI philosophy and with the world leading standards in their skills.
The final decision about the Competitors, who will take part in WorldSkills International in São Paulo, will be taken only by the end of May, 2015 after a series of preselection.
Among the partners, supporting the process of preparing the national team for the international competition in Sao Paulo are more than 55 enterprises and organisations, among them are such as JSC “Integral”, JSC “Kamvol”, Belarusian RAC Association of Microclimate and Cold Industry Enterprises “APIMH”, “Henkel Bautechnik” company, representative offices of Volkswagen, Bosh, Festo, Cisco etc., providing the most up-to-date equipment and materials, which are used for performing the competition tasks. For the number of skills there were organized WS trainings with the leading WS experts abroad, namely in France, Finland, Germany, Italy. Some of the members take part as guest competitors in the national championships in other countries of Netherlands, Finland DACH COMPETITION-2015 in Germany, etc. The whole team is excited to compete in WorldSkills Russia 2015 Competition and in the 1-st Open Championship “WorldSkills CIS+” in Kazan (Russia), on 16-24 May 2015.

Member Organization
The Republican Institute for Vocational Education (RIPO) was established in January 1993 by the initiative of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus for scientific and methodological provision of vocational education and training (VET), as well as further training of VET managerial and teaching staff in the Republic of Belarus.
The main objective of RIPO is the development and implementation of the vocational education policy meeting the socio-economic needs of the country. The RIPO tasks are focused on the improvement of the legislative framework governing VET; studies on the labour market (LM) and economic issues in VET; researches on the National Qualification Framework (NQF) in terms of transformation of LM needs into the VET parameters; studies and pilot projects on quality assurance and key indicators in VET; development of VET curricula and retraining programmes for the youth, adults, unemployed and disabled people; re-design and modernization of VET content according to the sustainable development goals and LLL priorities; introduction of competence-based approach and new didactics in VET; methodological provision and training aids for VET specialties; professionalization and further training of VET managers, teachers and trainers; nation-wide coordination of VET initiatives and dissemination of the best international experience in the field of human resources development.
The RIPO organizational structure embraces the VET research institute, 2 vocational colleges, faculty of retraining and qualification upgrading of VET teaching and managerial staff, postgraduate school, centre for VET informatization, coordination center for the CIS initiatives in VET, editing and publishing centre for educational books and training aids, department for comparative research and international cooperation in VET, with the total number of employees over 800.
Since 1999 the RIPO has been included in the worldwide network of UNEVOC members, being the official representative office of UNEVOC in Belarus.
In 2011 RIPO was granted a status of the Reference Organisation for the CIS member states in staff vocational training, retraining and skills upgrading in the system of technical vocational and secondary special education.
Among the RIPO international partners, there are VET research institutes, educational establishments, and industrial organizations from all the CIS countries, the USA, Nigeria, Vietnam, Turkey, Germany, Sweden, Switzerland, Finland, Poland, Lithuania and other EU countries. Within the last years RIPO has participated in different EU projects, e.g. within the EU programs Tempus, Leonardo da Vinci, project implementation with Dvv international.
In January, 2014 the Republic of Belarus has joined WorldSkills International (WSI). The institute became the National Operator of WorldSkills International in the Republic of Belarus, assuming the responsibility for carrying out national competitions of professional excellence among the youth and transfer of innovative contents into the VET practice of Belarus according to the WSI standards.
