ANHEMBI PARK

The venue for WorldSkills São Paulo 2015  is one of the largest event centres in Latin America.

With more than 400,000 square metres in total area, Anhembi hosts more than 30% of the main events taking place in Brazil and 55% of those carried out in the Southeast Brazil. The complex receives more than 12 million people annually for more than 1,000 events - from conferences, trade shows, sports and cultural presentations of all sizes and genres taking place in its spaces.

Big names in international music have already performed at the venue, like Amy Winehouse, Kiss, Linkin Park, David Guetta, Bruno Mars and Jennifer Lopez, to say nothing of the Bolshoi Ballet and festivals such as Skol Sensation, Summer Soul Festival and Live Music Rock. At the same location, lectures or political meetings with personalities like the Dalai Lama, Pope John Paul II and Fidel Castro have made their presence.

Besides hosting major exhibitions of Brazilian businesses, like the International Motor Show, the International Book Fair, FRANCAL, Equipotel, ABAV-Fair of the Americas, FISPAL, Office Paper Brazil School and Two Wheels Hall, Anhembi hosts concerts from national and international stars. At Carnival, the parade of samba schools of São Paulo takes place at the Anhembi Sambadrome, whose architectural design is undersigned by renowned Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer.

The exhibition centre is only 7 km from the city centre, 15 km from Congonhas Airport and 28 km from Guarulhos Airport. It is also close to major metropolitan hotels and highways. There is ample parking for up to 8,500 vehicles.

In addition to the Sambadrome, with room for 103,000 people, the Anhembi Park offers a multifunctional Exhibition Pavilion, with 76,319 square metres, the Convention Centre - which holds 5,000 people, Arena Anhembi (30,000 people), Nova Arena (24,000 people) and Espaço Anhembi - which can also be used along with the track structure and stands of the Sambadrome.
