How did you get interested in your skill?
When I was 8 years old, I want to make my own radio. My parents give me an electronic kit for Christmas to make some working things.

Where did you do your training for your skill?
At home with my team mate, in Vessem ( The Netherlands )

How did you first find out about your Member organization and its programs?
In 2012 was my first contact with Vakkanjers ( A part of team Netherlands). Me and my teammate wanted to qualify ourselves but the result was the second place. 2 years later in 2014 we want a retry and the result is that we are standing here right now !

Who influenced you to pursue your skill as a career?
My dad is always working with electronics and robotics, so is saw that and I thought. I want that also!

What is your experience in participating with your Member organization?
Me and my teammate had been 5 competitions played. So we know a lot about robotics and how the game will play.

Describe your most memorable moment so far with WorldSkills?
The second place with Euroskills. The whole competition we are standing on place one but the latest testrun goes wrong. That was also the baddest moment with worldskills. But we want a good result in Sao Paulo

Describe what your experience has been since your involvement with WorldSkills
I have done things that I couldn’t believe before. I have learned a lot, like programming, make parts etc. etc.

Did participating in the skills competitions and training for WorldSkills help you progress in your skill? Please describe.
Yes, we have some training days in Woerden with national instruments. They learn us how to program with this new program type. When you know a lot tips and tricks it is easier to program the robot.

What do you currently do? Where do you work?
I am learning at a high school in Eindhoven ( Fontys Engineering), I am learning electronics. That’s a big part of mobile robotics. This is my first year, and done in 2018.

What are your future career aspirations?
I want to start with a big company to learn very much in specific technologies. When I am about 30 years old I want my own company in robotic parts or robotic programming.
