Competition Organizer sets up an Inter-Ministerial Working Group
20 March 2015
To further consolidate the structure and institutional support of authorities for the WorldSkills Competition in Brazil, one of the proposals is to stablish an Inter-Ministerial Working Group, to be led by the Ministry of Civil House. Keeping that in mind, the Director General of SENAI, Rafael Lucchesi, and the Institutional and Governmental Relations Coordinator of WorldSkills São Paulo 2015, Paulo Pandjiarjian, were in a meeting with the Executive Secretary of the Civil House of the Presidency, Marco Antonio de Oliveira, on 26 February to develop this proposal.
The purpose of this working group is to set the demands and find solutions for the optimal execution of the Competition. Some actions include the publication by the Ministry of Finance with instructions to increase the awareness of customs and to create a fast track for machinery and toolboxes coming into the country. During this meeting, WorldSkills Sao Paulo 2015 sought permission from the Ministry of Justice to use specific immigration counters for the participants. They are also working with the Ministry of Education to gain support for the WorldSkills Competition especially around the International Conference on Education. The proposal was welcomed and the outlook is very positive.
