How did you get interested in your skill?
I cared for family members when I was younger and I have always been interested in helping others.

Where did you do your training for your skill?
I am training at the University of Leeds.

How did you first find out about your Member organization and its programs?
When I attended Middlesbrough College, they put me forward for the WorldSkills UK Skills Competition in Health and Social Care. I won a Bronze medal at the final which was held at The Skills Show, the UK’s largest skills and careers event.

Who influenced you to pursue your skill as a career?
My parents have always supported me and encouraged me to try my best at everything I put myself forward for.

What is your experience in participating with your Member organization?

Following this, I was asked to compete for a place in Squad and then Team UK for WorldSkills São Paulo 2015.
As part of Squad and Team UK, I have been involved in a range of training which has helped me develop my skills and knowledge.

Describe your most memorable moment so far with WorldSkills?
Travelling to Switzerland to train with the Swiss Experts for Health and Social Care.

Describe what your experience has been since your involvement with WorldSkills

Did participating in the skills competitions and training for WorldSkills help you progress in your skill? Please describe.
Training for WorldSkills helped me secure a place at the University of Leeds to study Mental Health Nursing.

What do you currently do? Where do you work?
I am at the University of Leeds, studying Mental Health Nursing.

What are your future career aspirations?
I would love to become a qualified mental health nurse and work in a psychiatric ward in a high security prison.
