How did you get interested in your skill?
My father is an electrical technician and I enjoy learning how things work. I decided I wanted to pursue a career in that area and I secured an apprenticeship in electrical engineering.
Where did you do your training for your skill?
I trained at University of South Wales.
How did you first find out about your Member organization and its programs?
My tutor encouraged me to enter the WorldSkills UK Skills Competitions and I won Gold at the finals which are held at The Skills Show, the UK’s largest skills and careers event. Following this, I was asked to compete for a place in Squad and then Team UK for WorldSkills São Paulo 2015.
Who influenced you to pursue your skill as a career?
My family as my grandfathers and father all had engineering based careers.
What is your experience in participating with your Member organization?
My tutor encouraged me to enter the WorldSkills UK Skills Competitions and I won Gold at the finals which are held at The Skills Show, the UK’s largest skills and careers event. Following this, I was asked to compete for a place in Squad and then Team UK for WorldSkills São Paulo 2015.
As part of Squad and Team UK, I have worked with my Training Manager Mark Maginty, a lecturer at Northern Regional College, to complete an intensive training programme.
Describe your most memorable moment so far with WorldSkills?
Getting into Team UK and winning Gold in the WorldSkills UK Skills Competition finals at The Skills Show.

What are your future career aspirations?
I would like to get a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering.
