How did you get interested in your skill?
Since I was in secondary school, I had interest in creating blog skins – at that point of time it was the ‘in’ thing to do. As I entered into Poly in 2012, I was exposed directly to web programming. That was when I realized my passion. I find it really interesting to be able to manipulate or create things with simple lines of codes.
Where did you do your training for your skill?
I can do my training practically anywhere as long as I have a computer, mouse and internet connection. Mostly, I spent my time in school and at home for training.
How did you first find out about your Member organization and its programs?
From my lectures in my polytechnic
Who influenced you to pursue your skill as a career?
My teachers, friends and family. They are very supportive of me to do what I am passionate in. Winning the World Skills Singapore in the skill Web Design have given me more courage and confident to pursue my skill as a career in the future.
What is your experience in participating with your Member organization?
My experience was good.
Describe your most memorable moment so far with WorldSkills?
It was when I stand on the stage, looking at crowd sitting in front of me as I received my gold medal.
Describe what your experience has been since your involvement with WorldSkills.
My experience have been good. I have enjoyed the bonding times together with my fellow team Singapore. The camp that my member organization have planned for us was good.
Did participating in the skills competitions and training for WorldSkills help you progress in your skill? Please describe.
Yes, through the trainings I managed to sharpen and increase my skills in Web Design.
What do you currently do? Where do you work?
I am currently working as a freelance graphic designers. I do projects for my clients.
What are your future career aspirations?
To be a web designer.
