How did you get interested in your skill?
It’s an area that I have been fascinated and interested in because I work in development projects which is the assembling of hardware, electronics and programming which is always challenging to solve.

Where did you do your training for your skill?
I trained in the Academy where I studied Electronics, Automation and Robotics.

How did you first find out about your Member organization and its programs?
I found out about my member in the WorldSkills Portugal (Competition in my country).

Who influenced you to pursue your skill as a career?
Nobody influenced me because from an early age I started to get more interested in this area and later I decided to pursue studies to acquire more knowledge.

What is your experience in participating with your Member organization?
The experience has been unique, at times it’s been fabulous, before the championship and in competition, we developed activities together and there is great support from the organization, "We are a team."

Describe your most memorable moment so far with WorldSkills?
The overwhelming feeling when I went up to the podium to receive my medal in EuroSkills.

Describe what your experience has been since your involvement with WorldSkills
I first participated in Worldskills Portugal in Faro in 2012, I returned to take part in 2014. In late 2014, EuroSkills went to France and it was awesome to have participated in those events. Now I will participate in the WorldSkills in São Paulo and my expectations are high.

Did participating in the skills competitions and training for WorldSkills help you progress in your skill? Please describe.
Yes, it helped me with my training and with the participation in competitions which has helped me to evolve as a person as well as with perfecting my skills. It changes the way we work, with time management and with the quality of work and knowledge I have acquired.

What do you currently do? Where do you work?
I work during the day and study at night. I am currently studying Engineering Electronics and Computers. I work on the factory floor and I am the person responsible for technical support on the production lines.

What are your future career aspirations?
My expectations are evolving in the area of electrical engineering and robotic, to participate in other competitions and have new opportunities the career with the WorldSkills.
