How did you get interested in your skill?
I was having lot of enthusiasm about Automobiles since my school days. I always used to think how different systems in a car work and how to maintain & repair these various systems? This passion towards Automobiles created interest in me for my ‘Automobile Technology’ skill.
Where did you do your training for your skill?
Tata Motors Limited- a leading auto maker in India- is partner of NSDC for Automobile Technology skill. I did my training at Tata Motors’ Central Training Center at Pune in Maharashtra Region, India.
How did you first find out about your Member organization and its programs?
National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) is my concerned Member organization. WorldSkills India is an initiative of NSDC which has been leading India’s participation at WorldSkills International competitions. Since Tata Motors Limited is partner of NSDC for ‘Automobile Technology’ skill, I first found out about my Member organization through Tata Motors.
Who influenced you to pursue your skill as a career?
I was having lot of interest about automobiles since my school days. My family supported and encouraged me to follow my area of interest and pursue my skill as a career.
What is your experience in participating with your Member organization?
The experience is excellent and memorable. I heartily thank National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) for providing the opportunity to the aspirants like me for showcasing the skills on an International platform. I feel proud that I got this opportunity to represent my motherland at International level.
Describe your most memorable moment so far with WorldSkills?
I won the Final Round of skill competition in Automobile Technology skill. During Award Ceremony of Final Round, when they announced my name as ‘Winner’, is my most memorable moment so far. I will also cherish the memories of preparation, practice and training for WorldSkills.
Describe what your experience has been since your involvement with WorldSkills
The experience has been really nice. Because of WorldSkills, I could learn so many new things, I got the opportunity to work on various cars and develop my skills further.
Did participating in the skills competitions and training for WorldSkills help you progress in your skill? Please describe.
Yes. Due to participating in skills competitions and training for WorldSkills, I got opportunity to work and practice on electrical and mechanical systems of various car models. I came to know precise way of repair and diagnosis. This has given me a lot of exposure and I could achieve higher level of skills. These aspects have really helped me progress in my skills.
What do you currently do? Where do you work?
I have completed ‘ Full Time Apprentice’ course from Tata Motors Limited.This is a course of 3 years duration, after Matriculation (10th standard).
Presently I am pursuing Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
What are your future career aspirations?
I want to make my career in Automobiles and I would like to start my own car repair workshop.
