How did you get interested in your skill?
My interest in web development started with a course at school when I was about 12 years old.
Where did you do your training for your skill?
Most of it I taught myself home. 2 years ago I started an apprenticeship in web development,
in which I still intensify my skills.
How did you first find out about your Member organization and its programs?
I first heard of WorldSkills when my expert advertised the german championship.
Who influenced you to pursue your skill as a career?
Especially the feedback from the people that I have worked with over the years. That made it
clear to me that web development is not only a hobby that I enjoy but also I should follow the
whole thing as a career.
What is your experience in participating with your Member organization?
Working with WorldSkills Germany is really nice. They care very much about me and my
training and they do all the organizational things so I can concentrate on training for the
competition.
Describe your most memorable moment so far with WorldSkills?
The preparation weekend we had with all members of the german WorldSkills team was a very
nice and memorable memory.
Describe what your experience has been since your involvement with WorldSkills
I never heard of WorldSkills before I participated in the german championship. Now I think that
WorldSkills does an awesome job in promoting skills and allowing young people to not only
enhance their skills but also make all participants make more connections to people in their
branch of industry.
Did participating in the skills competitions and training for WorldSkills help you progress in
your skill? Please describe.
Especially the competition helped me progressing in doing more tasks in less time because of
the given time limit in it.
What do you currently do? Where do you work?
I am currently working at ID.on GmbH, a web development company in Germany. We create
solutions for publishers and also E-Learning. I am responsible for the development of the
websites of our products. I also work on the relaunch for one of our products.
What are your future career aspirations?
I want to further enhance my skills and continue working as a web developer.
