Competitor in Skill: Visual Merchandising and Window Dressing

How did you get interested in your skill?
During my last school years I worked in a little clothing store as a shop assistant.
They had no extra merchandising department and so I did everything about the decoration in
this shop but I didn’t know that it is a profession. My friend told me about this after I told her
that I like to do this decoration works but I don’t want to be seller.

Where did you do your training for your skill?

- „Städt. Berufschule für Farbe und Gestaltung“
- „BBW München“

How did you first find out about your Member organization and its programs?
The director of our vocational school told about WorldSkills Germany last year in July.

Who influenced you to pursue your skill as a career?
My friend and meanwhile my boss Lisa Haas.

What is your experience in participating with your Member organization?
We had a preparatory meeting. We got much information and met all the
other competitors, experts and all the other people of WorldSkills Germany

Describe your most memorable moment so far with WorldSkills?
To hear about my participation of WorldSkills

Describe what your experience has been since your involvement with WorldSkills
It’s very exciting and the training and the preparation is a new challenge. There is a lot
to do, but my motivation and anticipation is big, so it’s easier to train.

Did participating in the skills competitions and training for WorldSkills help you progress
in your skill? Please describe.
Yes, I learned so many important things in the training until now, that I didn`t know
before.

What do you currently do? Where do you work?
At the moment I work as Visual Merchandiser at “Galeria Kaufhof München am
Marienplatz”

What are your future career aspirations?
My future focus is on WorldSkills 2015 and I don’t know what happens after it, but I’m
sure I want to do this job furthermore and hope for professional success.
