How did you get interested in your skill?
The first time I remember making clothes was when I was 9 years old. I didnt know how to make patterns so I just cut pieces of a fabric and sewed them together. After that I just knew that this is what I wanted to do in my life.

Where did you do your training for your skill?
At Helsinki vocational college. I have been training and studying at the same time.

How did you first find out about your Member organization and its programs?
In my first year of studying my teacher told me to try out for national skills competition Taitaja and since then i have been taking part in different competitions.

Who influenced you to pursue your skill as a career?
My dearest friend, who was also my first client (we're 13 years old). I had made her a dress and even then she told me that i was gonna be the best designer in the world! We shall see about that...

What is your experience in participating with your Member organization?
Very memorable, some of my best and worst memories are from competitions.

Describe your most memorable moment so far with WorldSkills?
Probably in Euroskills when our toolbox didnt arrive and we had to use paper scissors for fabric cutting.

Describe what your experience has been since your involvement with WorldSkills.
I have learned so much, but it has also been a long jorney with ups and downs.

Did participating in the skills competitions and training for WorldSkills help you progress in your skill? Please describe.
Definitely. I've learned a lot of things i probably wouldn't just in school. There are so many different ways to do things and i have really enjoyed learning them.

What do you currently do? Where do you work?
I'm finishing my ompelijakisälli degree in Helsinki vocational college.

What are your future career aspirations?
I wish that my future work would include clothes and/or making them somehow, but i haven't really desided what i really wanna do. There are so many intresting options in the fashion industry.
