1.    How did you get interested in your skill?

I got interested when I saw the pictures of the competition in London 2011.

2.    Where did you do your training for your skill?

I did it in Bogota in Colombia at the Centro Metalmecánico at SENA.

3.    How did you first find out about your Member organization and its programs?

I learnt about it for one of my instructors at SENA.

4.    Who influenced you to pursue your skill as a career?

My trainer instructor.

5.    What is your experience in participating with your Member organization?

-      First National Competition in 2012: Second Place.

-      Qualifiers for WorldSkills Americas 2012: eliminated.

-      Second National Competition in 2013: Champion.

-      Qualifiers for WorldSkills 2014: Classified

-      WorldSkills Americas 2014: Second place.

-      Qualifiers for WorldSkills Sao Paulo: Classified

 

6.    Describe your most memorable moment so far with WorldSkills?

When I got the second position in the first national competition because I didn’t know who the champions were. It was completely surprising for me and it was the first step to keep on with a new competition. I had to have more time for training myself so that I could get the best results.

7.    Describe what your experience has been since your involvement with WorldSkills

Since I started this beautiful experience I have done what I like the most and I have made many things that have made me grow as a person and as a technician. I feel really thankful for this great experience.

8.    Did participating in the skills competitions and training for WorldSkills help you progress in your skill? Please describe.

Completely, my training processes has been strict having sessions of about 12 to 16 hours a day.  Reinforcing my body, my mind and my soul.

9.    What do you currently do?  Where do you work?

I am currently dedicated to my training. SENA helped me with a contract so that I can be ready for the competition.

 

10.  What are your future career aspirations?

I want to study industrial engineering to work as an instructor in this area and I also want to run my own company.
