1. Cómo se interesó en su habilidad?
I was very curious about jewels are made.
2. Dónde realizó el entrenamiento para su habilidad?
I trained at the Materials and Testing center, SENA – Capital District Regional.
3. Cómo se enteró por primera vez sobre su organización miembro y sus programas de formación?
I really got interested in SENA when I knew that it was for free. SENA is an institution that every Colombian knows and also, everyone in my country knows that SENA offers a lot of work opportunities. For example, SENA helps you to have contracts with companies. Also, SENA offers a lot of courses which means that there is something for everyone. In those days I found out that SENA was receiving new students so I applied for the Technician course in Jewellery.
4. Quien lo animó a seguir su habilidad como carrera?
My family and very close friends are always supporting me.
5. Cual es su experiencia como participante con su organización miembro?
It has been a great experience, it´s plenty of knowledge, it is a window to the world of work.
6. Describa su más memorable momento con relación a WorldSkills?
The most memorable moment was when I knew that I was selected as the Colombian representative for the International competition in the skill of Jewellery.
7. Describa cómo ha sido su experiencia desde que se involucró en WorldSkills
My experience in Worldskills has been accompanied by continuous learning and self-knowledge; I use all of this in the development of each competition, learning different techniques in different cities.
8. La participación en competencias de habilidades y en el entrenamiento para WorldSkills le ayudaron a progresar en su habilidad? Por favor explique
The training for worldskills and the different competitions have helped me a lot to progress in my skill. The education I received was very specialized. I learned more and more. I feel that with my knowledge as a technician and the training that I received to be part of Worldskills, I really have a deep technical background and it is going to let me perform all my activities with high quality.
9. Que hace actualmente? Donde trabaja?
Right now I am finishing my training for the competition in Brazil and I study at the Materials and Testing Center – SENA and also I have a contract with this institution. I have been training the last two years.
10. Cuales son sus aspiraciones futuras para su carrera?
I want to continue working with the jewellery as a professional career, I want to make a living as a Jeweller and continue studying so I can have a deep knowledge in this area; I hope to do this in Colombia or in other country.
